Word has reached me that Entercom Communications, the owner of Boston radio station WRKO, is unable to come to terms with Mr. Limbaugh on a new contract for his show, so they will be dropping it this summer.
Unless something has changed recently, Mr. Limbaugh's show is unusual in that stations have to pay cash for it; most network radio shows are offered on a "barter" basis, i.e. you get the show free but have to run any commercials that come with it.
Because of this, prospects for Mr. Limbaugh to find another home in Boston are dim, I think.
